07:00 AM: I’m up.

08:10 AM: Leaving now to visit Mom.  My ride van just pulled up.  Back later.

09:45 AM: Arrived at the home.  I put Mom’s laundered clothes away.  One of her friends (the other Pinky, Mom’s classmate) was there visiting, andhad been since around 9:00.  She was getting ready to leave as I walked in.  Perfect timing, although she certainly would have been welcome to stay if she so desired.

10:15 AM: An occupational therapist showed up to help Mom dress.  Mom’s really transferring easily from bed to wheelchair now.  This new transfer board with the sliding plate on it for her to sit on while she slides, really lessens the transfer effort on her part.  She says it’s much easier than the wooden and plastic boards we were using at home.

12:00 PM: We’re heading for lunch in the 2nd floor dining room.  Today, they’re having tuna fish, Spanish rice, mixed fresh vegetables, and dessert.

01:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   with Mom in her room.  She’s starting to get interested in the story lines again.  In fact, she used to wath this with us when we were all kids during the 1970s.  But once we went on to college, she stopped following the show.  However, today, she commented on how easy it would be to get hooked on it again.  Yep, it’s still a keeper soap opera.

03:40 PM: I’m back home.  Nap time.  Back later.

06:00 PM: I’m once again awake.

08:10 PM: Watched today’s  Dr. Phil   episode:  The Trouble With Madison.  This was but another story of a troubled teen who hates her parents (and step mom), and whose parents and step mom were making some horrific child-rearing mistakes with this girl.  Good show, but I’ve seen it all before.

10:15 PM: Talked with [Emmy].  Both our colds are worse.  My throat has become quite scratchy and my nose is burning and running.  So I drank a 16 ounce glass of orange juice with the hope to head this one off before it worsens anymore.

11:00 PM: Heading to bed.  This cold really has me tired in spite of my nearly three hour nap this afternoon.  I don’t think I have a fever, but sure have the sleepies.  :-)   Anyway, good night.  I’ll write more tomorrow.  Take care.
