10:50 AM: I’m up.
12:45 PM: Headed up to see Mom at the hospital. Back later.
01:45 PM: Sister Jojo, her daughter, and I visited Mom this afternoon. Mom seemed quite good today; up and about in her wheelchair, coloring, and introducing us to some of her favorite care staff. Though she was not sad today, she still seemed resigned and apprehensive regarding “her fate.” She’s also very bored at the hospital and is looking forward to returning to a nursing facility, where there’s more to do that she enjoys. She says that she’s feeling much better, and we visited with her for perhaps forty-five minutes; a good time.
02:15 PM: Then we swung by Dunkin’ Donuts for some coffee. Catie got a very hot hot chocolate and a bagel. Jojo got a medium coffee, though she doesn’t seem as concerned about the caffeine potentially causing her headaches as she was a couple weeks ago. Today, she got a regular coffee. I had my usual two cups of decaffeinated.
03:00 PM: I’m back home.
03:30 PM: Talked with [Emmy] on the phone. The Penguins lost their game today with the Rangers. They’ve not been able to beat the Rangers yet in their new place yet.
03:40 PM: Nap time. Back later.
05:45 PM: Mom called, stirring me from my nap, wanting to head off any further visits today as she’s just not feeling up to them. So I called sisters Christine and Diane to let them know not to go up.
06:00 PM: I’m awake again and catching up on my blogging.
07:45 PM: Folded and put away today’s laundry, that included whites and fourteen new pairs of diabetic socks for Mom that Jojo and I bought over the past couple of weeks. While doing that, I listened to CNN news, where they reported that one compound of Libyan leader Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi has been hit by at least two missiles. Coalition forces say they’re not trying to get him per se; they just want to degrade his command and control capabilities.
08:15 PM: Posted the Dr. Phil Episode Notes: Steve Harvey: What Are Men Thinking? piece. I’m adding my notes from that show to this throughout the evening tonight.
11:00 PM: Talked with [Emmy]; our usual nightly conversation on the phone. It’s an uplifting routine, USUALLY.
11:05 PM: Yes, a big problem people routinely work themselves into, is that they believe they control way more than they actually do. Then, they spend their lives frustrated and disillusioned, because they think they can or that they ought to be able to control, when in point of fact, they can’t and will likely never be able to. A key ingredient in happiness is the ability to humbly rejoice in our gifts as well as to fully accept our limitations. We control very little actually, and the sooner we recognize that, the happier we’ll be, IMHO.
12:10 AM: Reviewed today’s traffic stats on my blogs. The thirty day unique keyword hit count has risen from 706 to 714; yet another high record. Great!
01:00 AM: iPodded and watched some CNN news. More focus on Libya tonight than on the Japan disaster. Apparently the nuclear power plants have been stabilized in Japan. That’s good.
01:05 AM: Okay, I’m going to bed. So enjoy the rest of your night and I’ll have more to say tomorrow. Good night.
