Log
10:30 AM: Sister Jojo called to see if I wanted to go over to sister Christine’s for a sort of day-after celebrarion (day after Grant’s graduation party, that is.). But since I was not dressed yet and feeling pretty lousy, I declined, thanking her for thinking of me though. I figured I’d ride over with sister Mary Ann later today when she and her family return to this area for more celebrating.
11:00 AM: I’m up and coughing like a veteran coal miner. This summer cold has setteled fully in my chest and my throat seems to be a bit more sore; probably from all the time yesterday evening I spent outside in the cool, damp air. Yep, I must cancel my attendance at the fireworks tomorrow night so I don’t slide further backwards in terms of recovering from this cold.
01:00 PM: Got caught up on the blogs and Facebook.
04:30 PM: Leaving now with sister Mary Ann and her family for sister Christine’s place, some fireside chatting, and mountain pies. Back later.
07:15 PM: Hung out around sister Christine’s fire pit for a couple hours, just shooting the breeze with her husband, as he nursed the flame from a single match into a roaring pile of bright red coals.
08:00 PM: I made myself two pizza mountain pies. Delicious, in spite of the fact that we had pizza yesterday. If I had none of the modicum of concern for my health that I do, I’d probably eat pizza every day. Sometimes, I indeed miss those days in the eighties when I’d eat a whole medium Domino’s pizza all by myself. I could eat an entire large one too. But even back then, I possessed a significant, albeit unrefined sence of propriety. So I usually never did that.
10:00 PM: After everyone had finished with the mountain pies, we all sat around the still-hot fire for more conversation and reminiscing. A typical pre-forth picnic it was.
10:15 PM: Everyone began getting ready to leave, as the air was cooling off and we were all running out of things to say.
10:30 PM: I’m home again.
11:00 PM: I called [Emmy] for an abbreviated conversation. She went down to the benches in front of her building, where residents there often congregate. She also visited a neighbor across the hall, who graciously invited her in for a couple hours.
12:05 AM: Reviewed the daily traffic stats from yesterday for my blogs. The monthly keyword hit count fell off a bit this time, and now stands at 1684; down from 1691 yesterday. The record high for this dimension remains at 1691. The next goal: 2000.
12:30 AM: Bed time. More tomorrow. Good night.
