Log
08:35 AM: I’m up.
10:00 AM: Performed my usual morning blog work (adding today’s routine posts to Tom’s Diary).
11:45 AM: Baked some Banquet chicken patties for lunch. Yum!
01:00 PM: Played around disassembling one of my Belkin Isolator surge protector power strips. It has a burned-out light bulb that I thought would be easy to replace. However, to get at the bulb, it appears that one must unsolder the man circuit board, which involves at least twenty large connections (solder joints). I don’t think I want to change that neon bulb THAT much. However, I may tackle it in order to keep up my soldering skills.
04:45 PM: Watched the 2011-07-10 episode of NBC’s Meet The Press weekly news show via the DVR.
05:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of The Young and the Restless via the DVR.
05:40 PM: No walk tonight. It’s been raining on and off all day and looks like more of the same weather is on tap for this evening.
06:30 PM: Leaving now with sister Mary Ann to visit Mom. Back later.
06:45 PM: We stopped at Meadows and got a couple tubs of ice cream for Mom and her friend Jeff. Plus, we indulged ourselves a bit as well.
07:05 PM: We arrived at the nursing home. Mom was in the first floor dining room, playing bingo. The game finished up soon after we got there. So we headed into the lounge to chat.
07:15 PM: Sister Diane called Mary Ann to say that Mary Ann’s dog had just peed all over her furniture (Diane was to babysit Mary Ann’s dog while Mary Ann and her family go on vacation). However, with this event, plans have changed. So, as Mom needs to get back up to her bedroom anyhow, we figured we’d best head home.
07:35 PM: We departed the nursing home.
07:50 PM: We arrived at sister Diane’s Diane felt bad that she could not watch the dog given his behavior. However, Mary Ann, in her infinite resourcefulness, found a friend close by her house to take the dog while she vacations.
08:05 PM: Diane gave me some fresh tomatoes and cuecumbers from her garden. Well, there’s tomorrow’s supper (the salad portion of it anyhow).
08:15 PM: I’m back home.
10:00 PM: Watched tonight’s episodes of NBC’s Nightly News via the DVR.
11:00 PM: Talked with [Emmy] via the cordless phone from the upstairs bedroom. She got some water inside one of her cordless phones. That made her voice sound all muffled and bassy. I advised her to set it atop her air conditioning unit, face down, with the microphone facing the fan. Hopefully, the circulating air there will dry it out thorougly in the next day or two.
12:05 AM: Reviewed the daily traffic stats from yesterday for my blogs. The monthly keyword hit count increased some, and now stands at 1638; up from 1627 the last time I checked. The record high for this dimension remains at 1788. The next goal: 2000.
12:35 AM: Bed time. More tomorrow. Good night.
