08:05 AM: We’re up. ’tis a sunny morning with temps in the low to mid 50s.
10:35 AM: Leaving now to visit Mom at the nursing home. Back later.
11:05 AM: We just arrived at the nursing home. Mom is already dressed.
11:20 AM: So we hung out in the 2nd floor alcove for some minutes, waiting for her friend Jeff to arrive. When he got there, he said that he couldn’t join us for lunch, as he has a doctor’s appointment later today.
11:35 AM: So, Mom, [Emmy], and myself headed for the Tac-O The Town restaurant for our lunch.
12:30 PM: We finished lunch. I had a medium order of nachos with cheese and jalapeno peppers. Mom had a Philly cheese steak wrap. [Emmy] had a few cinnamon flavored nacho chips (She ate a big breakfast not too long ago, and so avoided eating very much here.).
01:00 PM: We arrived back at the home. The sidewalks in the surrounding area are ironically not very wheelchair friendly (lots of little hills and dales, bumps and cracks to contend with). But we managed pretty well. Actually, I think we did better than Mom’s wheelchair itself, which creaked and squeaked the entire way.
02:40 PM: Our ride just arrived. So [Emmy] and I said good-bye to Mom (who is now headed to play bingo). Us two are headed home now.
03:15 PM: We’re back home.
03:30 PM: Nap time. Back later.
05:00 PM: We’re awake again.
06:00 PM: Watched the KDKA TV local news at 5:00 PM.
06:55 PM: Leaving now for walk 50 of 100 for 2011, to the south cemetery. Back later.
08:15 PM: We’re home. Ran into a lady that lived out the street from me as I grew up in Bellwood, PA. She walked with [Emmy] and I for perhaps 20 minutes, and we stood still and talked for perhaps another 15 more. Hadn’t seen her in three years, when I was last walking regularly in the cemetery back in 2008. But she’s kept her weight off and still looks pretty good.
10:30 PM: Watched today’s episode of The Young and the Restless via the DVR.
11:45 PM: Watched tonight’s episode of NBC’s Nightly News via the DVR.
11:55 PM: Facebooked at various times throughout today. Friend count: 564. Fan count: 111.
12:05 AM: Reviewed the daily traffic stats from yesterday for my blogs. The monthly keyword hit count rose, and now stands at 1527; up from 1518 the last time I checked. The record high for this dimension remains at 1788. The next goal: 2000.
12:10 AM: Bed time. More tomorrow. Good night.
Received Mail and Shipments
- Monthly bill from Mom’s nursing home. Looks like there are some issues that must be resolved. I’ll work them with the home this week.
