08:15 AM: I’m up. It’s sunny this morning with temps in the mid to upper 50s.
10:00 AM: Facebooked for an hour and got caught up on my blogs.
10:45 AM: Leaving now to visit Mom. Back later.
01:00 PM: Wheeled Mom to her favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch. We had nachos with cheese and peppers, cinnamon chips, and Mom had an eat-a-bowl salad. Beautiful weather; low humidity and intensely bright sunshine. Interestingly, two passers by commented on how much Mom resembles Barbara Bush these days. Strange. But since two strangers who did not know each other said it, there must be a bit of truth in it. Yea, I suppose she does look somewhat like Mrs. Bush with her hair being light gray as it is today.
01:50 PM: EARTHQUAKE! An earthquake, centered somewhere in Virginia rumbled through this area. Man how come I never feel these earthquakes? I was outside and walking about when it hit afternoon. Whistles started blowing, buzzers started buzzing, bells started ringing, and people started running. But I felt nothing. Actually, I’m glad it wasn’t any stronger than it was. Mom and [Emmy] and I were sitting in the “courtyard” of Mom’s nursing home, when the limbs of the trees began shaking. But I wasn’t sure if that was the breeze or the earthquake. Probably a little of both.
03:15 PM: We’re home. Checked around the house for damage. None spotted so far.
04:00 PM: Nap time. Back later.
05:00 PM: We’re awake again.
06:00 PM: Watched KDKA TV’s local news at 5:00 PM. Lots of coverage on the quake in Pittsburgh. Apparently it was felt from the Carolinas all the way north to Massachusetts.
06:45 PM: Watched today’s episode of The Young and the Restless via the DVR.
06:45 PM: Leaving now for walk 57 of 100 for 2011, around the south cemetery. Back later. [Emmy] is staying home this time.
07:45 PM: We’re back home.
10:00 PM: Watched tonight’s episode of NBC’s Nightly News via the DVR.
11:00 PM: Took the garbage out to the parking lot (it’s our pickup day tomorrow), refilled the cats’ food and water bowls, and tidied up the first floor.
11:55 PM: Facebooked at various times throughout today. Friend count: 558. Fan count: 111.
12:05 AM: Reviewed the daily traffic stats from yesterday for my blogs. The monthly keyword hit count dropped again, and currently stands at 1421; down from 1424 the last time I checked. The record high for this dimension remains at 1788. The next goal: 2000.
12:10 AM: Bed time. More tomorrow. Good night.
