06:20 AM: Facebooked for several minutes. Friend count: 603 (unchanged). Fan count: 114 (unchanged).

07:45 AM: Leaving now for my eye exam appointment.  Back later.

12:30 PM: I’m back home.  The doctor saw no degenerative changes in my eyes, no glaucoma, and no elevated eye pressures.  She wishes to see me again for a yearly checkup, next December.  Also, she wrote me a prescription for new glasses.  I must see an optometrist later this month to oversee their construction and fitting.

01:45 PM: Watched today’s episode of   The Young and the Restless   via the DVR.

01:50 PM: Leaving now with sister Mary Ann to visit Mom, who was hospitalized yesterday with severe swelling in her lower extremedies.  Details to come.

07:00 PM: I’m back home.  It turns out that Mom is suffering from “severe pulmonary hypertension,” as the hospitalist told us this evening.  She compared Mom’s last echo in January with the one done today, and found that this condition has worsened considerably.  Her kidneys also show signs of stress and failure, although the experts hope that once they get her fluid retention down, that her kidneys will function more efficiently.  They’ve adjusted her meds to remove some of the load from the kidneys.  Now Mom does not want any “heroics,” no dialysis, or any other long-term actions taken to keep her alive.  So she may not wish to undergo any procedures they might recommend to improve this situation.  Therefore sisters, if you have anything you want to say to her, better say it sooner rather than later, because this may not improve, and in fact, without treatment, will only get worse, we were told.  Ultimately, I think we all know what that means.

07:05 PM: Leaving now for shopping with sister Jojo.  Back later.

09:05 PM: I’m back home.  I picked up some fresh fruits and vegetables, and some winter clothes for   [Emmy]   and I to wear when we head to New York city for the day over an upcoming weekend.  This included long underwear, hats, gloves, and scarfs.

09:30 PM: Watched tonight’s episode of   NBC’s Nightly News   via the DVR.

11:00 PM: Talked with   [Emmy].

11:10 PM: I’m heading to bed.  More tomorrow.

12:05 AM: The daily traffic stats from yesterday for my blogs.  The monthly keyword hit count for this run is 801, up from 796 at last check.  The record high for this dimension remains at 1788.  The next goal: 2000.
